Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season

In a unexpected partnership that defies usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Disclosed

According to the authorized release, "A strange confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of banned rituals and fearsome transformations reverberate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a secret sect.

The adventure centers on "peculiar trials and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Changes

The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Additional Material

Players who accomplish the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana together with several items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
